Color Abstracts, January 28th, 2015

First muted cranberry and turquoise with salmon and sienna were on the menu.

Then forest green with a warm red and yellow ochre. Figures start to emerge.

Then a flurry of shapes in cool blues and reds against the sparkle taupe ground.

Color and Mood Paintings

Like nature and it's ever changing rhythms, just sitting down to paint daily whether I may feel like it or not is revelatory, as one never knows what will happen. It was a snowy day in the city yesterday and so as I worked somehow nature was reflected in the pieces as they were put to paper.

These two rectangular pieces became landscapes with varying moods and color reflecting the moment.

This last piece of the day was somehow more evocative of light shining out of the dark with boldness.

Enjoying experimenting on my friend David Oliver's wallpaper samples from Paint Library in London. All have been acrylic on paper.
