Had a great trip to London and France avoiding the bad weather on the East Coast and seeing parts of Brittany and the Loire Valley I had always wanted to visit.
Here is a perfect early evening overlooking the water in a charming ancient seaside town.
I saw great art and was inspired, especially by classic pieces I may have overlooked previously.

Armory Art week an inspiration
Despite the inconvenience of getting so far west and the airplane hanger size space I was really happy to have made it to the Armory show twice this year. I found much to be inspired by and found it very inspirational. As Roberta Smith said in her New York Times Article:
"Art fairs are for art lovers. There’s really no way around it. You can say that they demean art, that they’re all about commerce. You can complain about the crowds, the bad food, the poor ventilation. I hear you.
And yet if art is something you must have — or think you want to have — in your life, you stand to gain from perusing one or more of the several art fairs that have set down stakes across Manhattan this weekend. Open yourself to the best in them and they become pools of information that can humble, broaden and energize you in significant ways."
I agree with Roberta's sentiment. It's like food for the soul.
I saw many abstract and smaller pieces that I really felt looked fresh. And even large sculptures that seemed somehow appealing in a new way.
So it's exciting when one gets the opportunity to drink it in. I only wish somehow that they would stagger some of the events as they are just too large and there are too many of them to humanely take in all of them and still be standing.
Now to get working!
